Have you competed at triathlon in the past or have you ever thought about it? Well, the Ukiah Triathlon is around the corner (September 9th), and we already have several CFSR athletes registered. Triathlon is a great way to get outside and put some of your hard earned fitness to work for you in a rewarding way. This will be a great, low-key, sprint-distance event to try your hand at a swim-bike-run, and the more athletes we bring, the more fun we’ll have.
This triathlon can be completed as an individual, or if that seems like a bit too much to bite off, as a relay. Teams of two or three can participate, so grab a swimmer, cyclist and runner, and give it a shot.
Many people feel intimidated before an event like this. However, all of us at CFSR have a great base of fitness, and with a little swim/bike/run practice, will be able to complete the Ukiah Triathlon feeling strong.
Next week there will be a couple of short meetings (Monday 7/23 after the 9:30 am class and Thursday 7/26 after the 6:30pm class) that will cover the basics of what to expect, what equipment you’ll need, and what kind of training you should think about during the next seven weeks in order to prepare in this event. Even if you’re just curious, or have questions about triathlon in general, I encourage you to come.
